roller coaster…

This week’s weather ups and downs has us feeling like we are riding a winter weather roller coaster…70s one day then 50s the next.  One day we want to break out the spring pieces in our wardrobe and the next we are running right back to our cozy knits.   So for now our focus is on pieces you can buy now and wear today and all the way through summer!

One of our new favorites is a new arrival from Current/Elliott…the captain trouser in havana blue.  You already know how we love our boyfriend jeans.  This is a chino version that looks darling paired with a tee and light sweater, with a blazer or with an easy tank and flip flops when the temperature climbs.

OK…..these past few days have us in “spring fever” mode!  Those blue sun-shiny days with a little crisp cool air…the perfect combo!

BUT,  it’s January in Texas…and we all know what that means.  At least one,  maybe three more cold snaps are headed our way.  So, how do we beat these winter blues?  Floral pants of course!  What better way to put a little “spring” in your step than the perfect little floral print.

And if you are wondering how to wear them, here’s a little inspiration for you.

Wear them with…

a black jacket and leopard heels…why not?

Or an army green jacket .  Notice that Olivia is wearing same pants as above but styled different for a totally new look!.  Who knew floral pants could be so versatile?

Go casual with a nude heel and basic tee.

You could try black booties and black knit.

Another option – black stilettos, graphic tee and black blazer.

They say “a picture is worth a thousand words”…so we will spare you the thousand words and instead offer you:

one thousand (well, maybe not that many) pictures of great leather jackets!

We were totally inspired by these chic looks featuring the leather jacket.  Really, no matter how you wear it…over a ultra-feminine dress,  with your favorite jeans,  or dressed up over a great LBD…one thing is for sure – throw on a leather jacket and you instantly look pulled together!
